Two days ago my wonderful and talented husband, Steve Lathan of LuvTheLightPhotos.com held a photoshoot in our backyard of me wearing all of my bonnet creations. It was so much fun!
It is a tremendous perk having a spouse who is an outstanding professional photographer. Seriously, check out his stunning landscape photography (click the link above or image to the right) located under the “Galleries” menu. The vast majority of my portfolio pictures and just about everything else have been taken by him. Lucky me!
In the case of A Lady Bonnet Boutique, Steve helped me first by setting up a mini-studio in the backyard a couple of weeks ago to take staged photos of all my items. These photos, along with a handful I snapped quickly with my basic camera, are the ones I have used in the store listings here and on Etsy. Then it occurred to me that showing each of the bonnets on an actual human head might be helpful.
So that is what we did! Waiting for a bright, sun-shining day (which can be a challenge here in Kentucky where we get so much rain) we spent about two hours as I played Top Model posing beside the two huge cypress trees in our yard. I can now fully appreciate why an entourage of makeup artists and wardrobe dressers are useful. LOL! I had only myself to keep the unruly hair in order and switch out hats and shawls. I knew changing into different Regency gowns would have extended the process to an all-day extravaganza so made do with a simple blouse. 😆
I haven’t yet had the time to get the images onto the store listings, but my oh-so-supportive and awesome hubby uploaded the best ones onto his website. Check them out via the link below, or click the image underneath of me wearing a gorgeous brown and gold stovepipe bonnet adorned with a peacock feather.
